October 11-12th the Gamecock Battalion Cyber Club went down to Charleston, SC to compete in a Capture the Flag hackathon. There we were able to practice offensive cybersecurity skills to compromise modern wireless networks and web applications during the “Cyber Red Zone” Capture the Flag (CTF) competition held at Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic in the National Cyber Range Complex (NCRC).

BSIDES Augusta
Security BSides are ‘hacker conventions‘ that provide a community-driven framework for information security conferences around the world. The Gamecock Cyber Battalion attended the BSides Augusta conference on Saturday where we competed in capture the flag events, met with various security organizations (including the FBI!), and even won a Flipper Zero.
